Instruments: Piano Saxophone Clarinet
I started teaching music in college through my babysitting network. When the mothers and fathers of the children I cared for found out that I played piano and woodwinds, many of them asked if I would also give their kids private lessons. Having a knack with kids and with music, my music teaching practice quickly blossomed in that small town. I have found that while it's important to keep kids sharp in their ability to read music on the page, it is at least as important to engage their creativity off the page. Read More

I modify all lessons depending on the student to best suite the students needs and prepare them for the maximum learning experience. I use a variety of method books, etude books and solos to teach technique and style. Read More

Method books vary by instrument and student; there is a wonderful, vast library of methods available, and I like to base my selections on many factors unique to every student. Age, experience level, musical understanding, etc. all inform my choice of course of study. I will always supplement method books with my own exercises and studies tailored to each particular student. Read More

My main instruments are Clarinet, Drums, and Saxophone, but i also have a strong background in Piano, Trumpet, and Flute. I've taken private music lessons for the past 15 years with world class musicians, among them David Weber and Howard Hirsch. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
My primary focus is to make sure that each student is enjoying each lesson and builds a passion for the saxophone. I make sure that each student has a goal set in mind so that we can mold each lesson to further that goal. I encourage outside listening in order to better understand all the different styles of music that exists as well as getting in to the actual history of the saxophone itself. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet Recorder Bassoon
My teaching process looks like a mountain stream. We start at the top of the mountain, and the goal is to get to the bottom. As I teach using my tried and true techniques, we make our way down, but when I notice that my student needs extra help, or should be pushed more, we detour into another stream until we can return to our main path. Sometimes, we diverge immediately and continue down different paths until we make it to the bottom anyway! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Flute Clarinet Organ Piccolo Oboe Bassoon Keyboard
My teaching methods are essentially designed to give the student maximum command of his/her skills on their chosen instrument. First, all students must know the music essentials and the masters, especially on their instrument. Technique must be perfected by daily practice. I seek from every individual the highest level that they can attain to. No one knows exactly what that is but what is surprising and refreshing are the boundaries once thought impossible to accomplish have been broken. Read More
