Typically, I like to start every lesson by spending some time working on specific vocal techniques. Good fundamentals are very important - developing good singing habits while getting rid of bad ones is key to consistent improvement. I believe that as a teacher, the best thing I can do for a student is to give them the tools to succeed outside of the lesson. We also spend time practicing musicianship skills, which means time spent on ear-training and learning to read music. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone
At all ages, my lessons begin with a composition and theory-based approach. We spend time talking about music, form, and function to gain a greater understanding of the art. Musical concepts are often-repeated, so what is learned once can be applied again and again, and I use this to establish and build upon a solid foundation so that we can make reasonable strides toward the student's goals. In addition, my lessons are goal-focused, and I make sure that everything we learn builds toward a single goal. Read More

My performance and teaching experience date back to when I was in the 6th grade when I joined band class in middle school. I developed a love for music and performing early on, with a particular passion for practicing my craft. I practiced more than anyone I knew and my achievements showed for it. In all of the music competitions and audition, I never made anything less than 1st chair - all the way until end of high school, and all the way up to the state level competitions. Read More
