After graduating from Stetson in 2019, I stayed and taught as a Faculty Teacher at the Community School of Music, having more students. During my tenure, I taught students from four to 85 years old. first i ask what the student desires to learn . what type of music etc. once i have taught a few songs i ask the student to write a list of songs that they would like to learn. i teach how to find the key that the student sings in and how to transpose the song into that key. if the student does not wish to sing i teach them how the instrument of their choice works . again regardless of the instrument i usually am able to teach a student two songs in an hour lesson . one in four four timing and one in three four timing . there is nothing better than to see the light come on in a students face and see the confidence of ' i can do this ! The Bastien Method The Piano Party Series is great for those little ones who have never had lessons before. It is a lot of fun for the teachers also. We would suggest that the lyrics of the pieces be omitted, but the pictures and graphics are positive. Read More

Nothing is more important for me than seeing a student succeed! I am a firm believer in giving a student plenty of praise and encouragement for all their hard work. I think it is important to give credit where credit is due, and I definitely will not hold back any positive feedback when they have accomplished something new.
