I toured with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale for 5+ years, taught multiple music classes with Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the Reading, PA music foundation. I've performed at live events, and enjoy playing the piano daily. My love of music is something that I will never lose, and love to share with others. Since I am also a composer and arranger, I tend to be partial towards the use of my own "homemade" methods.... taking on the idea of composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann (example would be Album of the Young) and writing simple pieces that reinforce specific technical challenges like double thirds, left hand arpeggios, consecutive octaves, pedalling and so on. Sometimes if I have a student that likes Pink Floyd or Eric Clapton, for instance, I will do my best to come up with a simplified version of a particular song using good ole staff paper. Read More

I am the best when the student has accomplished and satisfied the lesson's requirements. We can expound on the de tails but if they are not prepared, we will review the previous lesson so they don't miss the value of that lesson. My teaching style can best be described in a sentence: New concepts, new fingering, new harmony, new rhythm, new literature when first you find the letters from Piano Music then unscrambled these single letters until you can spell PIANO MUSIC which is a gift for all ages. I've had quite extensive experiences in teaching. Teaching and tutoring began during my high school days. I would help out after classes or teach piano on the side. Coming up will be my 6th year in teaching piano. I've also tutored my peers all throughout college in music theory, musicianship, and ear/aural training. I've interned at an elementary school for a semester teaching general music. I was even able to get the opportunity to go to Japan for three months and teach English and translate for the United States Navy. Read More

I have been playing piano for almost 20 years, with professional gigs beginning about 10 years ago. Piano was not my primary instrument in college, but I used the piano to connect with my musical and emotional expression while I studied my music degree, throughout my internship, and out into the professional world when I began practicing music therapy full time. I have B.M. in Acoustic Composition and Electronic Music, 10 years of playing/performing French horn, 5 rigorous years of piano instruction and performance, and a whole lifetime of singing. I wear a lot of hats in my professional life that range from composer to ethnomusicologist (specializing in UK identities and politics in music) to performer (formerly primarily horn but now primarily piano and voice) to music administrator to teacher.
