I have taught privately off and on through-out the years in several cities that I've lived in. I like to challenge students but not expect more than they are able to deliver. I like to concentrate and focus on the basics of playing while expanding on the students ability. I believe strongly in a good daily warm-up and daily routine. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I truly believe in giving my students the freedom to select the songs and/or genres they like and that's because I believe passion is an integral aspect of learning. Read More

My love for music and performing is rivaled only by my drive to want to help people grow and feel good about themselves and their skills. I feel that it is very important for seasoned musicians to share what they've gained with those who want to learn and participate in that same world. Every person and every student is completely different from one another, yet we all have learned and can learn from others with different skill sets and experiences. Read More
