I would best describe my teaching style as "Learn how to have fun playing music, simply." I am thankful for being blessed with an ability to hear how my student plays and quickly and accurately prescribe a simple fix to get over hurdles. Sometimes all it takes is looking at things a different way to realize something and clear up confusion. Just like in life, sometimes with music all it takes is your teacher saying something a different way or helping you look at the music from a different angle. Read More

I have been teaching for 5 years to a wide range of ages. I take an individualistic approach to teaching, tailoring my lessons to my students. I teach violin for all levels and beginner/intermediate piano. I encourage all my students to learn how to read music and have a basic understanding of theory. I prefer a mix of a musical and technical approach and encourage a slow but steady timeline for learning. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I am an active collaborative pianist. I coach singers and play with guest or student instrumentalists for their recitals, juries every semester. I believe that I have a broad knowledge of vocal and instrumental repertoire and musical styles. I have also actively cultivated my written and verbal communication skills through extensive scholarship and research, and culminating presentations and lecture recitals. Throughout this time, I have also continued to pursue critical performance opportunities, including a recent recital that encompassed the premiere of several compositions, at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust, Opera Center America in New York City, and N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art in Detroit. For beginning students , I usually start with Faber& Faber method. In my opinion this is very popular method, created by Nancy and Randall Faber. Faber & Faber is a series of books for young and older beginner students. From the start I'm teaching students to play with expression and pay attention to music details. As soon as a student learned fundamental skills , I introduce and work with solo repertoire which is suitable for their first solo performance. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone
I have been a professional musician and music teacher for almost 20 years. In 2016, I graduated with a doctorate in saxophone performance from Texas Christian University. At TCU, I studied saxophone with Joe Eckert. He is a well-known jazz and classical saxophonist and was the lead alto and director of the "Airmen of Note," the premier jazz ensemble of the US Air Force, for 20 years. I have traveled as a performer for several years, and I have recorded multiple major label projects with various Latin music groups. Read More

My approach to teaching is completely different for each and every student. First and foremost, I first try to understand the student's pace and his/her previous knowledge in the respective instrument. That way, I can assign personalized practice routines to get them started. From there, I start to set goals, push their potential, and leap towards challenges that pushes the student's passion and curiosity. Ultimately, the goals I set for myself as a teacher is to provide the student with the ability to practice smart, diligently, and push their own creative minds into the music. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin
Once a student has grasped the basics of playing the violin and are comfortable navigating around the instrument, I start preparing them for their first performance. For children and adults alike, I believe that performing at any level to any audience is extremely important to build confidence, as well as casual group lessons and performances. I try to make sure a student is always working on something they truly enjoy, especially outside of technical work. Read More
