I have successfully guided many of my students to outstanding exam results in well recognized music examination boards such as RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and Trinity College London. I will start to present solo repetoire suitable for their first recital show when a student has gained an understanding of the basics. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 10 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. During a typical lesson I will hear the pieces my student was practicing the week before, make corrections or suggestions and have them play the piece again. Then I will assign them new pieces and have them play through them making sure they understand what to do and explaining any new concepts and giving suggestions on how to practice. As the students get more advanced I will also have them play scales andexercises and have them work out of a theory book. Read More

For my students, I like to follow a similar method as my piano teacher by using the Bastien method, but also adding in songs that the student may be interested in so that it is fun and motivating.
