I've been a musician since the age of 6. Music has been such a big part of my life and I hope to share that passion for music with others. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance in violin and harp with a minor in piano. I also studied at the Conservatory of Vienna in Vienna, Austria for two years. I have performance all over the US and parts of Europe in orchestras and chamber groups.
My teaching experience started in high school when I started teaching harp and piano part time. I had a close relationship with my music teachers growing up and I hope to establish the same type of relationship with my own students as I have with previous ones. It's also important that there is a balance between fun and time put in. Without practice, one cannot play an instrument well. I hope to encourage my students to practice so that they accomplish a level of success that motivates them to continue enjoying music for the rest of their life.
For my students, I like to follow a similar method as my piano teacher by using the Bastien method, but also adding in songs that the student may be interested in so that it is fun and motivating. I also like to teach students to play by ear every so often because this is a skill that is extremely useful.
Everything I have done has made me into the teacher I am: caring, encouraging, a bit tough at times, but always positive. I've had many different types of teachers, so I know how important it is to enforce discipline, but to be kind.
Brianna has a gift for helping a beginner on the harp, like me to understand and apply the fundamentals. She appreciates that I want things to be musical or artistic in sound, even in the basics.
My daughter loved her!
Brianna is very sweet en patient with my 6 year old daughter. Very happy!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
