I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who loves working with young musicians and helping them to express themselves through songs. I graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Songwriting. I have performed in festivals and clubs all over the country, written music for films, and lead a working band. A passion in my life is inspiring children and teenagers discover their own passion for music, and give them the tools to thrive. Read More

My teaching style is built on a foundation of encouragement and self-improvement. For a student to truly progress, he or she needs to be inspired and that's what my job is mostly about. I take great pride in being able to motivate and push students to want to get better on their own time, with the lesson time being available for learning new skills and techniques. Always being positive, even in criticism, is important to me. Read More

I really can't say much different from what I said in my methods, my methods and teaching style are singular and at one with each other, My goals and agendas while flexible for different students have been balanced by years and thousands of lessons into my own styles of teaching. I did take a Pedagogy course as well and teaching is a real art. I take students into music they're interested in right away if they already know what they like. Read More

I began teaching lessons 8 years ago when I was 16. I was heavily involved in my church's music program and I began with a few students who were fairly young. By the time I was 18, I was teaching over 15 lessons a week to students ranging from 4 to 45 years old. During my college years I was in school full-time, so I taught a small number of students on and off; however the experience I gained at Berklee significant increased the quality of education I'm able to give a student. Although my methods vary a bit depending on the instrument, the general plan is the same. For beginner students of instruments I focus first on fundamentals, such as finger placement, note names, what makes up chords so forth (again with a high emphasis on practice). I will gladly print out hard copies of chord sheets, note names, songs with chord markers if desired, or can display these digitally! For beginner students of voice, I start by teaching proper breathing, different parts of the voice, warm ups, and assessing the students vocal range. Read More
