Instruments: Piano Voice

I was raised in a musical home in New York City suburbia. Therefore, I was constantly surrounded by the sound of music. My parents were classical violinists and my older brother and I quickly developed a love for making music. I want my students to love it as much as I did when I started studying it. When I was five, I began classical piano studies with Elena Belli at Manhattan School of Music. Read More

It makes playing the piano even more rewarding. MANY MUSICIANS CAN'T SIGHT READ MUSIC like a trained pianist. Many musicians just use chords and a melody. So its important for a student to also learn chords and melody of songs that the students really like. This helps them to be more flexible in being to work on a solo piece of music or with a group of musician friends.Besides method piano books, I try to find music that the student really likes, that way they feel excited about playing a song that's cool and recognizable. Instruments: Piano Guitar Trumpet Bass Guitar Ukulele Double Bass

For beginning folk/pop guitar students I use the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. For Classical guitar I use a combination of various resources, including Segovia scales, Sor studies, Guilianni right-hand studies and Frederick Noad method books. I definitely encourage students to work towards performance of the music they are working on, and try to schedule recital/performance opportunities as students deveope and gain mastery over their material. I always try to maintain a healthy balance between keeping the student working on music that challenges them, and advances their technique, with the need to have fun and enjoy the playing of a musical instrument as a means of entertainment and relaxation. Instruments: Piano Guitar Drums

I've been teaching guitar for the past four years and drums for 10. My favorite thing about teaching is when a student gets to a playing level they didn't think possible. Seeing the transformation is the most rewarding part of the job for me, because I know first hand how good it feels to improve and progress. To see that same sense of acomplishment in others makes me happy because I know the lessons and skills learned are life long and invaluable. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Saxophone

For beginning students, I teach the Rubank Method. For intermediate and advanced students, I teach the Frost School Jazz Method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I create engaging lesson plans based on my students interests, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons fulfilling and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
