For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. My studies have focused on liturgical church music though my pentecostal church background has helped combine spirit with tradition. If they have had training with another method, I work to blend that method with the Alfred's method during the first month or two of lessons. Once the student has learned the fundamentals, I introduce them to the solo repertoire appropriate for their level and their genre of greatest interest to them.
