I'm a passionate instructor who thoroughly loves bringing the gift and love of music alive in students. In 2017 I had graduated with my Fine Arts in Music degree at Mchenry County College. I enjoy discovering the new sounds in music and writing when inspired. Currently I am apart of a worship team at my church and I play keyboard but I find I play mostly without sheet music. During a typical lesson I will hear the pieces my student was practicing the week before, make corrections or suggestions and have them play the piece again. Then I will assign them new pieces and have them play through them making sure they understand what to do and explaining any new concepts and giving suggestions on how to practice. As the students get more advanced I will also have them play scales andexercises and have them work out of a theory book. Read More

I graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College and earned an associates Degree in Jazz Music. I went on to U.W. Milwaukee and studied classical music and was part of the U.W. Milwaukee Percussion Ensemble for 4 years. After graduating from U.W. Milwaukee I became a full time musician and traveled as a full time musician working throughout the United States and internationally. I worked in a wide range of venues night clubs, lounges, casino's, U.S.O's bases, musicals I have worked as various schools nursing homes, boy scout groups Native American Reservations etc. Read More

For my students, I like to follow a similar method as my piano teacher by using the Bastien method, but also adding in songs that the student may be interested in so that it is fun and motivating. For piano I use the Alfred series, and for violin and viola I use a combination of Essential Elements and Suzuki books.  As students advance I introduce additional solo repertoire.  My voice students learn from a variety of sources.  I usually start with a song they know well and work from there.  Students also learn a variety of warm-ups and sight-singing techniques.   Read More

Jill has been teaching children and adults for 20 years. I studied voice and piano and performed at various venues. Now, I focus more on teaching piano and voice. We work on technique, performance, note reading, sight reading, and interpretation. We also work on music theory. We do 2 recitals per year as well that are a low key and nice way for students to gain experience. I teach ages 6 and up. Read More
