Knowing that people learn through a variety of methods, Blanche Marie draws from several well known method books to personalize the instruction to the pupil's needs and strengths. She believes that choosing one method book for every student doesn't make sense because each student's needs are different. The method books used depend on the needs of the students and the instruments they are learning. Blanche Marie tries to incorporate duets within the lesson whenever possible to assist the student in growing from playing notes to making music. Read More

I began working with children at the age of 15, working in a daycare. I immediately knew that I loved working with kids and I continued in that field. I have worked as a preschool teacher up to a 5th grade teacher. As music has always been my passion, I pursued a degree in music where I learned piano and studied voice privately. There I learned many techniques and strategies for teaching others. Read More

In middle and high school, I performed on saxophone, bassoon, drum set, all percussion, and guitar every year. I performed jazz, classical, military, big band, and marching band music. Served as head of the drumline in high school and taught many musicians how to perform on the snare drum, multi-tenors, bass drums, and mallet percussion. In college, I got more busy with schoolwork :( but I had time to compose music on my own and join a local pop-punk band called Shout London. Read More

I try to create a relaxed, fun, trustworthy and focused, environment for the student. I like to ask them what’s interesting and appealing to them, then we start the lesson. When I teach at my studio and children come directly from school I give them a snack if they haven’t had any. Children cannot concentrate if they are hungry. We play musical games for the younger ones, so they can internalize either the beats or the values of the notation. Read More

Im a working pianist, educator, music director, and accompanist. My greatest passion however is teaching, and I try to weave that into every part of my musical life and work. I graduated in the spring of 2022 with my bachelors in music from Rollins College in Winter Park Florida, studying under Dr. Gloria Cook. My favorite work to do aside from teaching is music directing musicals. I love to travel the state to play in and lead a pit of musicians and to bring a show to life through the thing I do best. For beginning voice students, I'll introduce them to the basics of singing, such as breath support, tone, etc. We'll start with some classical songs in order to cement good technique, and then branch out into the different types of music that the student would like to explore. For beginning piano/keyboard students, we'll begin with Piano Adventures Book 1 by Faber and progress through lesson books until the student is comfortable trying solo pieces. Read More
