Instruments: Piano Guitar Saxophone

My teaching style is goal oriented. In my personal life, I like to set measurable goals (long or short term) then find out what steps I need to take in order to achieve them. This approach goes for how I interact with my students. We will start usually with me asking you what would you like to be able to do in X amount of time? This is important because without measurable goals, growth is not always guaranteed. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with either Music for Little Mozarts Series or Piano Adventure Series with essential music theory related piano. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoires appropriate for their performance levels. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in first, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

No one is a 'beginner' when it comes to recognizing great music, so I strive to create musicians who can reach their own goals...thus, building independence is the key: My job is done when my students can do what I do without needing me! For more experienced students, I assess your present skills upon our first lesson via a variety of repertoire so as to 'diagnose' what areas you need improvement on musically speaking. Read More
