My teaching experience didn't really begin until a few years ago. I began "shadowing" other teachers that I knew who founded The Music Bus Rocks, a local business that focuses on teaching young musicians-to-be, and I immediately became hooked with the process of teaching something that I loved. My experience has mostly been with kids and young adults, but I always believe that no one is too old to learn an instrument. Read More

I love working with both kids and adults of all ages. I especially enjoy watching them learn and grow as students. For violin I usually use Suzuki Method and will introduce etudes like Wohlfahrt or Kreutzer. I also have fun with Christmas music, pop and fiddle. If they are young children aged 4-6, I will use the "I Can Read Music" by Joanne Martin. For guitar I use a variety of different classical method and etude books. In addition, I will introduce different genres according to what each student wants to learn, for example, rock, pop, worship, etc. Read More

After college, I taught in the public school settings for three years before auditioning and winning a position with the Air Force Bands! I am now currently in the process of enlistment. Read More

Most of my instruction experience has been on-the-job teaching of my professional associates and bandmates as a Musical Director and bandmate. I have occasionally taught lessons during brief stints off of the road, but playing on the road has been my primary job for most of my adult life. Teaching, learning, practice and rehearsal have played a major role in my day-to-day life. Through this experience I've acquired a broad understanding of the various ways in which people learn and relate to music. Read More

As stated before, my first goal is to help the student feel comfortable in the lesson. I find that without this, a student will have a hard time succeeding. I myself am classically trained. This is also how I like to train my students. With a classical base training, a student can succeed in any style of music. I like to give the student a combination of a classical song and a current song they love. Read More
