Since I began studying at a young age, I have a special love and passion for helping my students with the piano. Teaching students from five years to 75 years, I am thankful my teaching experience has been very diverse; I enjoy the challenge of an advanced student, and the energy of a new student; always looking to bring on new students of all ages. I grew up playing piano and singing in church and was previously Minister of Music at my former church where I was responsible for singing and playing piano. For all students, our first meeting will be an assessment to figure out where to start! I typically have students begin by playing something they are comfortable with that they enjoy, and we go from there. I am comfortable teaching a variety of methods and like to help the student achieve their individual goals, whatever those may be. I do like to supplement most teaching method books with some kind of scale/etude regimen depending on the level, to round out their practice throughout the week between lessons. Read More

I fell in love with classical music while watching Leonard Bernstein conduct the NY Philharmonic as a young boy.In 1979 I graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Music Education. For the past 40 plus years I have taught music to children and adults in school and church settings, and at a performing arts center.
