The first is that every student is unique - no two students, no matter how similar their interests, should necessarily have the same curriculum or be taught the same way. Once I have fully got my students into guitar reading notes I would then teach them the principals of chord structure and reading chord structure. I have been a full time musician on graduating from undergrad in 2010, since then I have played the most prestigious clubs in Chicago as a leader and as a sideman, The Jazz Showcase, Andy's, and the Green Mill.
