The method books for Younger students typically consists of 3 or more levels depending on their skill, while the method books for older students provide a good outline of the technique for the instrument. For young beginners, I like to use Alfreds Basic Piano Library books. The songs inside are simple, fun, and are a great introduction to piano and music theory! For older beginners and more advanced students, Ill use Piano Adventures and The Piano Bench of Classical Music. Ill also throw in a favorite theory and technique book according to students age. My lessons will consist of classical piano training theory, technique, and performance but we can apply this to any piece the student wants to learn! Read More

I've appeared in performance with Eyvind Kang, Vinny Golia, Bill Frisell, Steve Vai, and Dr. Nancy Ambrose King (under the direction of Maestro Jeffrey Kahane). As a soloist I've performed Bachs Concerto for Oboe and Violin with violinist Rachel Iba and the CalArts Ensemble, and won second prize in the Riverside Philharmonics 2018 Concerto Competition with my performance of Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto. I also work as a studio musician, contributing to film and TV scores as well pop albums such as Blonde Redheads 3 OClock and Avey Tares (of Animal Collective) newest release, Eucalyptus. Read More
