This program allowed undergraduate students with sufficient skills in piano performance to gain experience teaching a small number of students on a weekly basis. Age and maturity/attention span of the student will help to determine which books to select. Often a generally creative adolescent will prefer picture books of music to begin with. For younger children, I typically start with the fundamentals such as distinguishing between the head voice and the chest voice. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for said student. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in both repertoire and vocal goals, and guide my instruction according to their goals. She majored in piano at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, and she received her bachelors degree from Yonsei University in Seoul in 2002. She moved to the United States to continue her studies at the New England Conservatory (NEC) with scholarship, where she studied with Alexander Korsantia.
