I believe in the philosophy of and empty cup. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. I enjoy working closely with my students to discover the kind of music they like and any specific songs they want to learn. I encourage students to always be thinking of new pieces and to bring them in to work on. I love teaching people the music that most interests them, and I prepare my students for whatever venues and performances that they choose to play, always encouraging them to get out and show off their talents.
