For beginning students I typically start with Hannon and my own finger exercises. I ask the the student to draw notes on a staff so they can get familiar with reading and composing music. I was a Music Teacher in the New Haven Public School system for 10 years, and then moved on to become the Music Coordinator at the Highville Charter School for eight years.
