Instruments: Voice

My teaching method is very simple yet effective.1. Find your voice, 2. Know your sound, style, and genre., and 3. Find your rhythm. The first step helps the individual find their voice. Which is, helping one find confidence in their voice and helping to establish belief in their sound. Next, finding out what inspires them to sing and also what motivates them to sing would be the clues I need to prepare the right lesson. Read More

My favorite way to learn is my working towards a song that I love. I always ask my students what specific song they want to play, and then structure my lessons around the building blocks of that song: chords, rhythm, melody, etc. I understand that a lot of guitarists do not care much for the nitty gritty of music theory (especially for rock and such), and while I am admittedly a huge theory nerd I am willing to overlook theory for a more feel-based approach. The first and most important thing that I like to do with the student is give them a general idea of how to basically read notation I then immediately get the student into basic coordination to be able to play basic beats so that they can eventually play to actual music the next important step that I like to accomplish with most students is to get them to actually be able to play some basic pills along with the rhythms so that I can prepare them to play music if their goal is to play in school band I immediately get them into the notation necessary to be able to audition for the school band 0 if they want to play in the dance band the goal is to get them to be able to play those rhythms to be able to perform in the dance band or the marching band if they want to participate in nysma I immediately get them into the exercises necessary to perform those types solos those are usually very challenging if they're in high school and want to go on to college to study music I also get them prepared for the necessary exercises and skills to be able to perform in the college setting as far as playing to music is concerned I love to work with a lot of pre-recorded tracks without drums many of the music minus one tracks are very effective to get a student ready to actually play in a band most students want to actually accomplish this goal the main thing that I like to emphasize is to have the student learn the things that they want to learn as far as styles is concerned for example if they really like Latin music all concentrate on that style if they really like rock music all concentrate on that etc etc etc. Read More

For me, the most vital aspect of teaching involves creating a self-motivated student. I believe that you can do this by teaching music that is of interest to the person you're teaching, and by introducing material that is graded in such a way that it is always a little bit more challenging than what your student is used to (no matter the level they happen to play at). If a student has no reason to practice by themselves, and if a sense of curiosity and desire for exploration and accomplishment haven't been developed, the teaching itself becomes obsolete. Instruments: Piano

Just like in our life experiences, I believe that keeping lesson plans diverse and high-energy is essential! This means that, during any given lesson, listening to a song, playing a song, tapping out rhythms, practicing scales, learning about jazz voicings, or speaking about the role that the piano plays in a rhythm section might be most relevant at any given moment. I take the time to learn about each student's normal practice schedule and make suggestions about how to practice, when to practice, and what to practice. Read More

Instruments: Double Bass

The goal I aim for is that the student feels the desire to complete individual practice tasks, fueled with positivity. I love seeing a student develop a personal drive for the music (or technique) they are learning. The way I approach this is getting the student to relate what they learn in bass lessons with everyday thinking, choices and activities they do outside the practice room. The idea is that the instrument can become an extension of themselves, if they choose that path. Read More

My greatest passion involving music is passing on the vast knowledge I have gained from a real world prospective as a working professional in a field involving the arts. From 2012-2017, I was based out of Nashville traveling the U.S. as part of a country music artist where I gained a unique real world view of music. I also was lucky enough along the way to perform alongside some of the most renowned bands and artists across the music industry. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
