I'm an acoustic and electric cellist multi-instrumentalist who is passionate about creativity and music as a means to joy! In 2019, I graduated from Temple University with a B.M. in Music Therapy/Cello where I studied both classical and jazz music. I've been playing cello for 13 years in orchestras, quartets, jazz combos, and my personal favorite, rock bands. I have been teaching music in various capacities for approximately the last four years. My private studio has included both in-person and online lessons. As the music director of Smooth Progressions A Cappella, I worked with college students of various skill levels to produce an EP and an album. We sang everything from Irish folk ballads to Justin Timberlake. For trumpet students I initially provide my own material, based on the exercises which I have found to be beneficial in my own playing. Early on, I'll ask most students to play a recording of one of their favorite songs, which we'll use to improvise to as well as for ear-training purposes. I use my own materials and lesson plans based on my past experiences and education. For beginners, I will generally start with simple songs like Sweet Home Alabama, I Love Rock n Roll, and Heathens. These are all songs that can be played and sung simply and most students have heard them already! I started mentoring and teaching students when I was in high school. I have been very successful with preparing students for auditions and to get them to the next level with their performance. My teaching style is is a combination of an active and exciting engagement with the student but with a no-pressure relaxed environment that the student can be comfortable in. I fully invest myself into each of my students and keep track of their progress diligently to be sure to cater to their needs.
