Over the past thirteen years, I have taught nearly 400 students - beginning as a junior in high school with four pianists. My teaching experiences have ranged from group lessons with fourth-grade, beginner clarinetists and saxophonists, to starting brand new five-year old pianists, to preparing high schoolers for competitive auditions and performances, to substitute lessons with adults. I actively seek to have my students play for people whenever they can (i.e. church, family gatherings), and I seek out and arrange more formal and organized events such as recitals or visiting the elderly and performing at retirement villages and nursing homes. I was also was recognized as a semi-finalist in the Chopin Foundation of the United States' 2020 Competition, as well as a quarter-finalist in the Hastings International Concerto Competition, competing on scholarship after being selected as one of the top three North American candidates. Professionally, I have worked as a freelance musician across the country playing holiday ceremonies to pops concerts, and various other recordings projects. Diversifying my playing experiences has helped me to be a well rounded and knowledgeable performer, that I impart to my students. During my undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas, I frequently performed chamber music with my colleagues in the surrounding community and discussed the importance of music in schools. I teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers ages 4 5. This method gives them a head-start in math as well as patterning. I start beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) with Faber's Piano Adventures. I introduce intermediate students to Alfred's Premier Piano Course as this method starts them on solo repertoire.
