Overview:

I am a highly motivated piano teacher who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music.  I have had the opportunity to accompany many solosits and performing ghroups that have given me the greatest experiences of my life as a musician.  I started playing piano at the age of 6 and continue playing today at a variety of events.

EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons.  I have been consistently teaching piano students in my home studio for the last 5 years.  I use practice incentives to encourage regular practice as it helps students progress.  My studio hosts a yearly recital where students can showcase their talent for family and friends.  I incorporate music theory and history into each leason as well as composition.  Writing their own music helps a student stay motivated to learn.

METHODS USED

I teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers ages 4 & 5.  This method gives them a head-start in math as well as patterning.  I start beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) with Faber's Piano Adventures.  I introduce intermediate students to Alfred's Premier Piano Course as this method starts them on solo repertoire.  I find out what adult students are interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep them engaged.  If my students are not having fun, then I'm not doing my job!

LESSON STYLE

I want to instill a passion for music in my piano students.  To do this, I let each student progress at his or her own pace.  I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lession and acknowledging the small accomplishments.  By finding out what inspires a student, I can tailor my instruction to keep them engaged and eager to learn.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
