first i ask what the student desires to learn . what type of music etc. once i have taught a few songs i ask the student to write a list of songs that they would like to learn. i teach how to find the key that the student sings in and how to transpose the song into that key. if the student does not wish to sing i teach them how the instrument of their choice works . again regardless of the instrument i usually am able to teach a student two songs in an hour lesson . one in four four timing and one in three four timing . there is nothing better than to see the light come on in a students face and see the confidence of ' i can do this ! Hi there! I can't remember a time when I wasn't involved with music in some way. I started in the Suzuki program in 2001, so playing the violin is like a second language for me. I have enjoyed both being a student and a teacher and I am ready to create a diverse studio of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. Being inclusive is something I pride myself on and it is the way in which today's music world is headed. Read More

I started playing piano at age 5 and finished a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy from Saint Louis University. My 16 years of classical training helped me attain a teaching position at the Yamaha School of Music in the Philippines and a rewarding teaching career at the Florida Conservatory of Music in Jacksonville, Florida. Along with a colorful musical career, I also gained experiences in teaching Humanities at Baguio Colleges Foundation in the Philippines. Read More

For children, I draw influence from the organization of the Suzuki method, while still maintaining the emphasis on fun. (Learning TV theme songs, etc) Fundamentals are introduced with memorable examples tailored to the students musical interests. For all other levels of experience, I encourage the student to share with me what exactly it is that they want to learn or need help with. If the student has no idea, I will take over and decide what is missing from the students repetoire, and find the most effective way of tackling these new skills while maintaining fun. (EMPHASIS ON FUN) Read More
