As every student has different needs I dont have a specific plan that I follow. Rather I like to adapt my lesson plans to each individual students goals and playing ability. I always have my students work on a mixture of technique, etudes, and solo repertoire. For very early beginners I like to work out of Trever Wyes Very First Flute Book and his Beginners Book for the Flute. Listening! I want to hear from the student why they're excited to play the instrument, in my case learn how to sing or play guitar. Every person and thus every student will be different. Some people find certain things easier or harder than others, so even if say I were teaching say two students of the same ability or progress level I wouldn't just give them excercises out of a book I'd customize the lessons so they could develop and build upon their currentskill level. My experience goes back to High School when I would give casual tutoring sessions to friends. In college I started teaching lessons in theory and composing/songwriting. I like to encourage students to get on a practicing schedule especially for younger students as it helps them get more interested in the instrument.
