I graduated from the University of Arizona in December of 2019 with a Bachelor of Music Education. My greatest passion is playing and teaching Irish music because I was given the opportunity to study abroad while in college and fell in love with the music tradition. My teaching style is centered on the intersection between neuroscience and music. I love exploring how the brain works and how we can take advantage of that to make our practice as effective as possible. For example, did you know that a lot of the absorbing information that your brain does happens while youre sleeping? Or that a technique called random practice is more effective than blocked practice? In addition to supplementing my teaching with my neuroscience degree (in progress), I also think that it is my job as a teacher to make motivation and inspiration as easy as possible for the student. I have been consistently giving private lessons since 2009 while I was in college, The Peabody Conservatory. I have completed my student teaching as a string specialist at Elkridge Landing Middle School and Elkridge Elementary School in Maryland. It has been a wonderful experience, allowing me to become skilled teaching music in public school setting.
