No matter what age my student is, I will try to incorporate music they love, whether it's jazz, Hip Hop, Rock, or Pop. I have extensive knowledge of music theory and will make sure to cover chords, scales, and music notation while building familiarity with the instrument. Once the student starts to progress, I will start to teach songs/pieces of music one at a time. I graduated from Central Conservatory of Music of China with a Bachelor of Music Degree in French Horn Performance. I got my master's from The Boston Conservatory of Music in French Horn Performance. I also got a Graduate Performance Diploma in French Horn at The Boston Conservatory. I've had hundreds of performances as a guest musician with China NCPA (National Center for the Performing Arts) Orchestra and played six concerts in America, including Chicago Symphony Center, Stern Auditorium Carnegie Hall, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Davies Symphony Hall, and HillAuditorium, University of Michigan. I did not specificly stick to particular music series in the market as I believe it is best to choose the music books that match with the age, personality and learning style of a student. I had started with Alfred, Faber and Hal Leobard for my young beginners. I will also introduce students with Suzuki methods if I think this is a better fit.As for later or adult beginners, I used Faber, Alfred, and John Thompson series as the starting material, and give instructions along with the students' interest. I am a musician, an educator, and a lifelong learner who enjoys developing students' potential and watching them succeed at every musical challenge. I graduated from Bob Jones University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, and went on to receive a Master of Music degree in Music History from the University of Hartford's prestigious Hartt School, graduating in 2015. My story in the music begins with the study of Venezuelan folk music. Later, as a violist, I was a founding member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Raimundo Pereira" (One of the Orchestras of "The Sistema") in Venezuela. I studied lyrical and popular song with Masters William Alvarado and Inés Feo La Cruz. I have two records production, the first, named Por el Medio Oriente, it is a musical project that fuses the sounds and rhythms prevalent in Middle Eastern music and culture and the second named Preludio y Coda, a romantic CD.
