I have been instructing students from kindergarten to high-school all over the Chicago area for the past thirteen years. My highest accomplisment is having a high-school sophomore student playing second chair first violin in Chamber Orchestra and third chair first violin in Symphonic Orchestra at Maine Township, Park Ridge, Illinois. My teaching style varies greatly depending on the student. I adapt to each student in order to find the most effective way to both inspire a passion for the music, and to help a student advance in the most effective way possible. I usually begin each lesson by discussing how practicing went the previous week, and adress any problems that might have arrised in both finding time to practice, and in inspiring each practice session to both effective and engaging. I am goofy kind of gal who is a kid at heart so, while I do not allow the students to goof-off during practice, I definitely encourage the children to have fun and take breaks. Learning a new skill is taxing on the brain so I do enjoy inserting some brain-breaks here and there, when necessary. I'm also a very big sticker advocate! Most children enjoy them, and I love rewarding them after completing a song we've been working on. Read More

I have been playing trumpet for over 10 years, and have been teaching various students for over 5 years. I grew up in St. Louis, where I studied with musicians in the St. Louis Symphony. During high school, I was selected for competitive music festivals, ranging from Brevard to the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Orchestra program. For my bachelors, I attended Northwestern University, where I have studied with famous orchestral players, such as Robert Sullivan, who played in the New York Philharmonic and Cincinnati Orchestra. My Teaching Style can be summarised in one sentence - "Progress over Perfection." I believe that the journey is just as important and enjoyable as the destination itself and every student has their own journey and their own destination. My goal as a Voice Teacher is to guide and keep them on track in attaining their musical goals and to aid in whatever way possible. I am a Chicago-based freelance Trombonist who recently graduated from DePaul University in 2021. Since I began my college career in Chicago, my professional music career started up simultaneously. Since 2017, I've played in a wide variety of ensembles around town.
