I truly love helping people uncover their passion for singing and developing their unique voice. During the first lesson, I ask the students about their musical goals and if there are particular techniques they feel they want or need to master. I ask the student to keep a record of this, as having a mission or musical goals is vital in keeping engaged with practice. I have recently taken a break from teaching to focus more on the craft and hone my own skills. Past experience includes teaching middle school and high school bass students privately. In addition to private lessons I have also conducted/instructed a middle school string ensemble. I have also taken a string pedagogy course aimed at younger learners. One of the highlights of my career was being a percussionist for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "The Band's Visit." The opportunity to contribute to such a renowned production was an honor, and I am grateful for the experience. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance from the University for the Arts in Rotterdam, Netherlands (CODARTS) in 2004. I use standard method books, along with personal sheets of exercises I have developed through the years. I publish my own solo books with accompaniments, which I also use. These books are primarily classical pieces, but I also use digital accompaniments for jazz and popular music. Theory and ear training are also part of my lessons. My lesson books include Rubank books for beginning students, and Rose, Andersen, and Bassi studies for more advanced students. Read More

I have an innate desire to share knowledge. I like to imagine my passion for teaching for my students as a development section in a symphony: Ever expansive! I started teaching piano in the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in the Scarsdale, NY community. Going further I taught and tutored piano and music theory to fellow adults in my alma mater: Manhattanville College. I hold a Bachelors Degree from Yonsei University of Music in Seoul, Korea, and a Masters Degree from Brooklyn College of The City University of New York. As a soloist, she performed with Underwood Chamber Orchestra from 2004 to 2011at Carnegie Hall for a Mission Concert. In addition to her performances with the Underwood Chamber Orchestra from 2011to 2015, New York Wind Orchestra Concert in 2015 and Good Neighbors Chorus with Chamber Orchestra Concert in 2014 to 2015. I love to perform, but I also love to work with students by sharing my musical journey. The best people I can share my passion are always my students. After I graduated at Manhattan School of Music, I have made my debut as Mezzo soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall in New York , as well as Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy at Carnegie Hall.
