I started teaching private lessons when I was in high school and continued throughout my time in college and beyond. I have taught beginners of all ages as well as more advanced students, and have led group classes. I bring all my love for music to the lesson, and practice empathy and kindness with my students. I encourage regular, healthy practice and celebrate student accomplishments. I encourage my students to audition, attend competitions, and perform in recitals. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
Teaching beginning Clarinet is one of my specialties. Generally speaking, I use the Belwind Band builder and Standard of Excellence method books to teach fundamentals of the Clarinet. I also mix my own teaching style, especially forming an embouchure (how one's lips and teach rest on the mouth piece). I believe it is very important to teach embouchure, breathing and posture to ensure great habits once the beginning student progresses. Read More

As mentioned my teaching methods are as follows. Beginners in Piano - Scales, proper fingering positions and usage, posture and accurate knowledge of reading music. Beginners in Drums - Proper usage of drumsticks, demonstrate the two postions of holding the drumstick, knowledge of basic rhythm patterns, proper height and angle of drum or practice pad, and most importantly, the study of the 26 standard drum rudiments for proper playing developiment. Vocal Techniques: Proper breathing support, demonstrating the difference between using the breath and using the throat when singing, encourage student to record their lessons for accurate practice and knowledge of hearing themselves sing, (approved by student's preference). I learned from the best teachers who are proactive. I am always studying music and when I was developing into a professional musician I practiced many hours every week for years. When I realized I was performing with bad posture and poor ergonomics I went back and developed a much better technique which I use to this day. I can immediately identify problems with your style and show you how to fix them. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Different students need different ways to teach. Kids need to give list. Adults need to talk equivalently. I can’t say I have a style. I will teach students according to their personality and studying pace. I will do my best to help you. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days when I began tutoring other students in 2001. After graduating in 2003 I transitioned to private lessons and have been teaching ever since. Regular practice on a consistent basis is one of the main points I emphasize to my students. It helps them progress and gain a passion for their instrument. A combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy their instrument and motivate them to continue learning. Read More
