As a teacher, I will also be a coach to encourage the student to learn rudimentary and theory basics. These will be foundational for development as the student matures. Tactically, lessons will consist of playing for understanding. I look forward to a student questions as it is key for the overall learning process. My teaching method incorporates elements of the Russian school of cello playing (what I myself grew up learning) in addition to elements of Suzuki style aural training and Alexander Technique total body awareness. Often teachers just focus on the physical mechanics of cello playing and wait to teach aural skills or music theory until the student enters a collegiate music program. I'm a brass, piano, and guitar instructor based out of Seattle, Washington who loves working with children and young adults to acheive their musical goals. I graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in 2009 where I studied with Trombonist Julian Priester, Pianist Dawn Clement and Bassist Chuck Deardorf.
