He has won numerous awards including the First Prize at the 2012 Classical Minds Guitar Competition in Houston, TX. Ian has performed in masterclasses for acclaimed guitarists such as Lorenzo Michelli, Roland Dyens, Florian Larousse, Gabriel Bianco, Raphaella Smits, Jerome Mouffe, Marcin Dylla, Denis Azabagic and Jorge Caballero. I have a great enjoyment and love for music since a child. Since then from 2015, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in both trumpet performance and jazz studies. I saturated myself to know a great deal and variety of genres in music. In 2016, I toured for a year playing around 10 different states and venues for audiences around the country. I approach teaching as an avenue to inspire others. Making mistakes are just as important as playing something perfect. I like to stress that perfection is not the goal but feeling good from playing your instrument is. It is very important for my students to practice outside of lessons.
