My experience goes back over ten years.  I have taught students privately and also from teaching services.  Presently, I am teaching piano at a school here in the Miami area.  In additionn to that, I have several private students that I teach at my home studio.  My students are encouraged to practice everyday.  If they are taking lessons because they are interested, it is easier to teach them.  If they are coming because their parents want to learn, they are not as inclined to enjoy their lessons. The piano needs to be praticed every day if the student wants to progress! For Children I teach pop and classical piano, where as adults I try to find out why they want to play and what style of music they would like to play. With the beginning students I use Alfred and Bastien piano instructional books. Also, the children simultaneously learn to read notes and understand music notation. In my teaching method the goal is to combine high level of technique with musicality and individual interpretation. The beginners’ lessons are systematized as a successful blend of fun musical games and new academic material, thus learning new is fun and inspiring.
