My method of teaching is that I always start from the theoretical part of every instrument or skill I teach because if they don’t have the background understanding they will be limited in their performances. I motivate by telling them my story how I started with no instrument I used borrow a two octaves keyboard from a choir member just to learn the piano my self I had no internet and no money so if I was able to learn in that condition they can do better.I teach the secrets of becoming a professional musician or music producer which one of them is consistency. While still in high school, I discovered that I love watching others realize their own musical potential. I began with tutoring my peers and enjoyed it enough to take on students of my own. My teaching had to take a pause during my college years, but I have been looking forward to the freedom to teach again! I try to help my students feel comfortable with themselves and their abilities because it can be frustrating to not understand a concept immediately or progress as quickly as others, and I want them to enjoy the music while they're playing rather than comparing themselves to others. For any lesson I prefer to have two drum kits, side by side, so that my student can see exactly what I'm doing (posture, form, etc). Though this is not the case most of the time, one kit is always fine. For beginning students I often start with snare drum technique, and depending on what the student knows already, basic kit beats. I love music and I love teaching. I have been playing the trombone for over 10 years and been involved in music since a very young age. I have been teaching since high school, and have taught students of all ages, ranging from age 5 to adults. I have had multiple opportunities to perform and accompany for various groups within my education at BYU, and have composed many pieces for piano, orchestra, and small groups.
