My teaching experience begins in June of 2018. Prior I had experience teaching at a non profit organization that I was the Executive Assistant Director of. I had taught students business English, museum management, & digital editing during summer exchange programs. In regards to drums, I began regular tutelage in June of 2019, growing my students to 8 total before the pandemic. During my time teaching virtually, I have found that focusing on theoretical points of discussions, balanced by applicable examples of these topical discussions in older & contemporary forms of music, is a wonderful & effective way to teach the instrument. My love of teaching became stronger than ever after I recovered from a vocal disorder that changed my life. Everything I learned from that experience encouraged me to spread awarness of vocal health. I became the guitar studies director at the Bronx House Music School (during this period) and later became the Music School Director there, and the Music Director of the Mercy College Satellite branch (which offered college level music lessons and classes at the Bronx House Music School). I have been teaching since I was 18 towards the end of High School. I taught lessons part time through college and since graduating college have maintained a steady roster of students. I focus on getting to know and understand each student and their goals to customize lesson plans for that individual, all while covering the essential and important fundamentals. I encourage students to give me a list of their favorite songs so we can learn them, play along to them and work towards possible recitals and/or situations where they can play the songs with other musicians!
