My teaching style is based on a balance between fun and progression. I have a loose, fun-loving personality that can also be balanced with the seriousness to get things done. I ensure that the student knows that I care, both about their goals, and them as an individual. I use a lot of humor and wit in my lessons to help make sure my students are relaxed. I also provide critical feedback that both allows students to improve while at the same time highlight a student's strengths. Read More

Originally from Anaheim, CA, I've been living in New York City for the past six years while completing my Bachelor and Master's degrees at The Juilliard School. I love exploring new creative ways to use the cello, and have taken influences from all sorts of musical genres, from pop to EDM to bluegrass. I've played my cello with rock bands, avant-garde multimedia installations, contemporary dance, and jazz combos. I'm also a passionate Star Wars fan, technology enthusiast, and lover of philosophy! Every student responds differently to a method of teaching. Some react better to being challenged while others respond better to encouragement and positive reinforcement. It is my responsibility to find the method for each student and adapt accordingly. Another factor that is not constant among all students is their pace. I make sure that each student has goals that they can achieve at their current level, to avoid extreme frustration and to always keep them moving forward. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I began teaching private lessons eight years ago during college. By the end of 2015 I had a studio of over 30 students. I tend to focus on developing a student's sound concept first, so that they can get a beautiful sound out of the instrument at an early age. I also encourage students to play ear-training games and develop an independent melodic sensibility early on. My students have excelled in audition-only honor's ensembles, All-State Bands, band assessments, and some have even written their own songs and performed in recitals. Read More

My musical lesson or lecture is a creative process where there is no teacher and students, but there are senior and younger colleagues who create in common this process of creativity. The creative growth of the student is defined not by quantity of the learnt homework, but by quality of employment and display of his creative activity in any process. I should always take into account interest of the student and direct him on his way, chosen by him: (classics or another stiles). Read More

My methods are very creative and different for each students, depending on what the student wants to learn. I have a notebook for each student to keep track of how the student is progressing. I love to keep the lessons engaging and fun, sometimes I like playing duets or just sight read for fun. When I see that the students would like to make a career in music then I have many different technique etudes, orchestral excerpts and exercises to introduce them to. Read More

My teaching style is aimed at celebrating each milestone my students achieve while simultaneously ensuring their progress to the next one. I believe in recognizing and rewarding their efforts, which builds confidence and motivation. To facilitate this, I often have my students work towards a specific project or song. This approach allows them to see tangible progress and realize how far theyve come as musicians. Using the George L. Stone stick control book as a foundational tool, I promote limb independence and improve technical skills. Read More
