I started playing trumpet and piano in Kindergarten, I have played trumpet for over 46 years and have been in various groups in Elem, Jr. High and HS. I played trumpet from when I was a Kindergartener. I was self taught. I was first chair, in Amarillo High School band, and did solo and ensemble competitions earning a one in rating many times. I began teaching flute lesson when I was a sophomore in high school in 2010 by helping middle school students, as well as other high school students, to prepare for band auditions. I taught throughout my time in college as well. I took a short break after graduating with my master's but have since returned to teaching in the Rockwall area. I have played guitar myself for about 15 years, the last five or so professionally. I've had the opportunity to perform throughout Texas doing my own arrangements of contemporary music on classical guitar, performing at venues such as the Mansion on Turtle Creek and the Four Seasons.
