I not only teach cello, but also incorporate music history and theory in my lessons to help excite and intrigue. I do not believe in the "cookie-cutter" teaching method, which means that I do not utilize the same teaching method with every student. I realize that each student is a unique individual with different learning preferences. With each student, I design a different approach that caters to the student's needs. In 2013, I graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachleor of Music in Double Bass Performance (with a Jazz Emphasis). While at Lawrence I studied bass with Mark Urness, jazz improvisation with Bill Carrothers and Jose Encarnacion, and compostition with Fred Sturm.
