As a musician, there is nothing more rewarding than sharing my love and knowledge for music with others. My primary focus is to make sure the student is enjoying the lessons and learning the style of music they desire to learn. I began teaching bass lessons when I was in high school. I taught bass for 11 years as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I also worked as a clinician at the UAB Jazz Summit. Many of my students have gone on to play professionally and a few have gone on to become music teachers themselves. The most important aspect to teaching in my opinion is to make sure that the students remain engaged and excited enough to spend the time that will make them successful. Read More

I encourage practicing for all my students, assigning practicing requirements that will challenge students but I know are accomplishable in the week between lessons. Read More

I've also found that getting my beginner students learning the songs they want to learn can go a long way in helping students enjoy the guitar and motivate them to practice and continue to learn.
