ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
Professional Certificate: Berklee College Of Music
Overview:

I have been playing guitar amd sax for around 20 years, I also own a recording studio where have most of my lessons. I have two bands. One is a classic rock band and we have been playing together for about 5 m and the other is a worship band where we travel to many different churches and perform. Ive been giving lessons to students in guitar, sax, bass, and audio production for about 9 years. Being a musician can change your life, maybe not with fame and fortune but it is an amazing source of therapy. Music is the only thing that can change someones mood or influence someones attidtued. Music is my life and this is what I will always be doing.

EXPERIENCE

I taught my first guitar student when i was still in highschool and have been teaching ever since. Teaching music has been a full time job along with my recording studio for the last 5 years. My teaching methods are proven ways to teach a child or an adult. I have never had a student get bored or tired of learning and just quit. I make learning fun for students of all ages and my students really enjoy coming in for there lessons. I encourage my students to enter there school talent shows and I am about to start holding recitals every month!

METHODS USED

The instrument I'm teaching will determine the methods of teaching I use, for example, if I'm teaching saxophone I use Hal Leonards essential elements to teach the fundamentals and after that depending on what style of music or type of player the student wants to be will determine what I teach them. What i teach is different for every student. Every student is different, what a student is interested in such as a style of music or playing has a huge impact on what I teach them. If the student wants to be a lead guitar player then I will teach the student alot of scales. The only constant is that I am very big on teaching music theory. Music theory is the most important requirement for being an incredible musician.

LESSON STYLE

I'm very big on motivation. I tell my students from day one how great there doing and give them something to work towards. For example if I have a guitar student that really wants to be a lead guitarist I will play the solo of one of there favorite songs and teach them a small part of it or all of it if they are at an advanced level. I believe this is why my stufents never quit and always are excited to lesrn more because theres never a dull moment. I will also use my recording studio as motivation by recording them playing a song.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
