Overview:
I am 24 years old, and best known as the lead guitar player for rock band Throne Of Eden. While rock and roll is where my heart is, I am a very well-rounded musician. In 2017 I graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors Degree in Classical Guitar Performance, and a secondary focus in voice. Unlike most guitarist, you could catch me playing styles varying from Mozart to Guns N Roses at the drop of a hat. I received a performing arts scholarship for both voice and guitar every semester that I was in college. I have also been fortunate enough to tour all over the eastern United States, and performed on major stages such as Shrimp Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama and House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
EXPERIENCE
I taught my first lesson 5 years ago when I was an under graduate. I began teaching guitar to the public part time at age 19 in the music department of my community college. From there, I went on to a university and continued to teach guitar, bass, and voice while I finished up on getting my performance degree. Ironically enough, some of the best lessons I ever learned in music school weren't even how to play, it was how to teach. I learned quickly just how much of an impact my instructors had on me, and my desire to progress as a musician. An instructors attitude, enthusiasm, and eagerness can make all the difference in a students love and desire to play music. Therefore, it is my responsibility to pass on that same encouragement and enthusiasm that I received onto the next aspiring musician!
METHODS USED
Most of my lesson plans are customized for each student, depending the style they are interested in, and the level that they are already playing. Generally speaking for beginners, I begin with teaching about the instrument (string names, frets, tuning, etc.). Then we move on to chords, starting with the easiest ones to play. Once they have grasped how the instrument and chords work, we continue on to melodies and simple 3 chord songs. For intermediate-advanced, we will begin with working on scales and various picking and phrasing exercises/techniques. Then depending on the style the student is interested in pursuing, we will set reasonable goals and do songs that will help strengthen the player to getting one step closer to being the musician they went to be.
LESSON STYLE
As a musician, there is nothing more rewarding than sharing my love and knowledge for music with others. My primary focus is to make sure the student is enjoying the lessons and learning the style of music they desire to learn. Nobody enjoys lessons where they have to play styles of music that they are not interested in, which also poses the threat of the student losing their interest in learning music. Learning early on what the students ultimate goal is allows me to lay out a unique teaching plan for each individual.

Justin is an outstanding instructor. He can teach practically anything to a student. His lessons are very in depth, including teaching technique properly. I had been playing guitar for ten years when I took my first lesson with him, and I wanted to speed up my playing. He went far enough in depth to help me learn how hard I had to press the strings to be able to play the way I wanted, which was specifically a problem in my technique, and since it’s been corrected, I’ve started to progress again instead of feeling like I’ll never improve. He’s fantastic, his understanding of the instrument, technique, song writing, and music theory are all extremely high. Try him out for a few lessons, your faith won’t be misplaced.

Justin gave me guitar lessons for a little over a year in college. He does a fantastic job. Each lesson is conducted on a personal basis. He doesn’t really conform to a syllabus, rather he accommodates to your personal learning style and your specific needs. If you want to improve your musical talents and gain a fuller understanding on music theory, I would definitely recommend Justin. Waddup!

I took piano lessons from Justin a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed learning from him. He was very patient with me and my learning style. I loved the classical music. I would definitely recommend him and I will also let him teach my daughter if she starts to show interest

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
