I am passionate about working with people of all ages, and helping them grow as musicians and develop a lifelong love of music.  After I graduated college in 2004, I went on to teach music in Wisconsin, Hawaii, and now Washington. I have taught voice lessons to a wide range of students of different ages and abilities, and have also taught beginning piano lessons. Through music I have performed across the United States in places such as the Kennedy Center.  I have also toured Europe twice as part of different choral ensembles, and sung in the most amazing cathedrals and castles. My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn. Any dreams or goals a student may have, it is my job to make them happen! For beginners, I teach using the Suzuki method. I find that they can be very helpful and that many kids enjoy the songs within them. For intermediate and advanced students, I use a combination of the Suzuki books, chamber music, and outside works. I find learning how to work with other musicians and how two parts might fit together is as essential as learning theory and technique itself. Read More

It is important to adequately instruct the student and make sure he or she is properly disciplined, but one cannot be too involved in the student's playing.
