Instruments: Voice
I have my students start with sufficient stretching to get the body ready for singing. Following that, I warm up their voices with different scales and specific singing exercises, which I will use independently with students in different levels. Afterwards, we work on the music. I usually pick the music for my students. However, if there is a piece of music that my student particularly wants to learn, I am willing to compromise as long as it is suitable for his/her voice. Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet
I teach piano classically by reading music and patterns. As we progress, sometimes the student gets disinterested. At that point, I introduce the chord method as well as the number system- having them play certain progressions as I prompt them to play. My teaching technique for vocal students are as follows: I find out what their forte is vocally and find out what key they sing a particular song in. Read More
Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion
I start my beginning students off with learning to read music notation simply from a rudiment sheet and moving into a cd play a long book with basic drum rhythms and song structure. For intermediate to advance students, I typically start with Stick Control for the snare drummer by George Stone. For basic drum set we start with "The Rhythm Book" covering all drum set styles. If the student is interested in a specific genre and style of playing, we tend to travel down that road of goals they have set for themselves. Read More

Instruments: Guitar
I have been teaching for over three years now. I started teaching friends and family members in my home. My key points are musical technique and consistent practice. I try to teach music as a form of language, much like Victor Wooten teaches. The most important thing is keeping things interesting for both me and the student, while still preparing them for school performances and recitals. I am always excited to teach my students, as well as help them succeed in any endeavor they choose. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
Those who are new in playing the violin/viola for the first time, I would start addressing how to care and properly hold their instrument and get them familiarize with the essential elements boors book which has simple exercises and fun modern music at the same time, so the student can learn and also have fun! Those who have a little bit more experience than a beginner in playing the violin or viola, I would ask them to play a solo piece and a scale so I can start analyzing and start working in technique such as bow usage, bow hold word, hand frame, intonation, etc. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated music teacher who loves introducing young children to the wondrous world of music. I come from a very musical family as my father instilled in me a great love of piano and I have in turn inspired my nephew who is also a musician. I graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. I have always had a good rapport with my students and I get great satisfaction watching my students advance in their musical proficiency. Read More
