I quicly began to seek out a way to teach music before I was in college and built a small studio of beginner cellists in my home town. I also began performing in both classical and other styles during this time, something I continue to do today. Since the age of 9, I've been learning and performing with a guitar. First it was recitals among my fellow peers at my local Music school. After gaining enough proficiency, I started playing in a multitude of bands as a teenager, playing various local venues around South Florida. My love of music comes from the personal fulfillment attained when creating original compositions. I encourage my students to practice daily and to take care of their instruments. I tell my students that I believe that if you really want to be a singer, musician, and entertainer if you never give up eventually you will achieve your goals. Success is measured by your own happiness, short term and long term goals. My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. I also strongly encourage voice and guitar students to write their own music to promote self expression. Read More
