I hope to influence students in their discovery of music through various modalities of learning, including visual, auditory, proprio-kinesthitic (movement), with a special focus on audiation. I started playing the drums when I was 6 years old. I just played with a pair of sticks on a chair listening to my favorite records. I found I had a gift for hearing music and playing the drums without any training. I have been a national competition finalist two times and have been recognized many times for my performances and hard work at FSU. I am a driven player who believes ardently in the practice of fundamentals and the accuracy of intonation. I auditioned for the U.S Army Band in 2004 and spent 10 years traveling with the group. During this time, I played venues all over the world, including Japan, Korea, Germany, and Iraq among others, and learned to play many different styles of music.
