I find that I am at my happiest when I am instructing people in one of my greatest loves, music. In 2018, I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of the Arts in Music, my emphasis being the saxophone. I have performed with numerous ensembles and one of the greatest rewards I get from playing is seeing the joy that it brings to others. I have used several tools for instruction including Hal Leonard's Guitar method to acquire the basic techniques and positions. I highly recommend Mary Schwartz's YouTube channel to ALL of my students as a supplement to my classes for a reference on rythm and basic music understanding. After building a solid foundation on standard open chords, posture, and basic chord progressions I go more in depth with scales, arpeggios, and basic music theory including the circle of fifths and song building. Arias maintains a roster of trumpet and piano students through both her personal studio and the Monroeville Music Lesson Center. She serves as the trumpet coach for the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and is the trumpet instructor for the Norwin High School Marching Band. During her graduate studies, she served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant to Dr. James Stokes at the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University and was previously the trumpet teacher for George Rogers Clarke High School in Winchester, KY; a counselor for the Morehead State University Summer Arts Academy; and an instructor for the West Union Performing Arts Camp.
