Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, I also ask the students what do you want to achieve today in this lesson, or this week. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More
Instruments: Violin
Active, engaging, and of course, fun! I try to be as thorough as possible without overloading my student with information. The biggest challenge in the beginning is learning about you as a student and how you learn. Obviously learning an instrument is very aurally challenging, however there many ways of learning: aural, visual, tactile, etc. The more you know about your own preferred learning style, the more smoothly our lessons will start out. Instruments: Piano Synthesizer Music
My teaching style is fast paced and dynamic quickly adapting to the needs of the individual student. I ensure that lessons are fun and that music can be a means of relaxation. I adapt each lesson for the individual, their interests and their needs. I have found that constant encouragement keeps students engaged and eager to learn and to let the music itself challenge the student. By finding out what a student is most interested in we can keep their love of music alive and use it to help them further learn to reach their goals. Read More

My experience with teaching has spanned from my high school days when I trained in my hometown of Nashville, TN. I taught students in my community orchestra, as well as a basic music theory class there. After high school, I took on a couple of private students for my college professors, whom I intermittently taught throughout my bachelors degree. Now, I am currently employed by Angels House of Music in Cincinnati, where I have 5 full time students. Read More
Instruments: Voice
When it comes to teaching voice, there is no one way of doing so. Each child learns differently and each child has a different instrument, and it is most important that that be figured out first. I will generally start out with well known songs sung by ear, and then depending on the students level help them to learn to read music. I will always be careful to never allow a student to sing something that is not designed for their age or their voice type. Read More
