I've been teaching guitar for the past 12 years, and more recently bass, ukulele, piano/keys, voice, percussion and studio recording as well. Any good coach would study the student for any weakness, and formulate a viable plan to bridge the gap again to take them further faster.. I have been awarded diplomas in piano performance and accompaniment from Trinity College London and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and did my Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano Performance and Musicology) at the College of Charleston, SC, where I graduated summa cum laude. My lessons include a time to practice piano technique as well as time to learn new pieces. I usually recommend R. and N. Faber books for beginners. I also encourage performances and for those, I let students choose works (classical, romantic, contemporary, jazz, or pop) based on skill level and personal interest.
